About Sonic Fusion Pedals:

Sonic Fusion is a guitar effects pedal builder based in Philadelphia, PA. Back in the 80's I was an Electrical Engineering student at Villanova University and have been working with electronic circuits for almost 30 years now and have been a guitar player for almost as long. In 1989 I built my first Distortion+ clone for a Sophmore college project. I have been building pedals ever since for myself and friends. Everyone was so happy with my pedals I recently decided to offer boutique quality pedals to anybody that would be interested. I am a small one man operation and will strive to always remain so. Remaining small means being able to listen to each and every customer, being open for enhancements, new ideas, and ready to implement these ideas into my products. That is the kind of service you cannot expect from any major instruments manufacturer. And that is the main reason why I believe there is room for such a small but dedicated company as an alternative to the the mass produced monster companies churning out their pedals in shops overseas. Each pedal is my labor of love for a quality of tone and hand built by me to my exacting standards.

What about support...
I stand behind every pedal I build with a full 5 year warranty where I will repair or replace any pedals which have been deemed by me defective in either parts or workmanship. My goal is to never have a pedal returned for either of these reasons, but it is not a perfect world and sometimes things do go wrong.

What about quality...
Each pedal is built upon a solid foundation being...an FR4 dual clad US military spec manufactured PCB. Each layout is designed by me using all the knowledge, education and practical wizdom gained over several decades. Anybody can lay a circuit out, but careful thought of component placement and lead dress are critical for a quiet and quality pedal build. Ground planes are equally important for shielding, all my PCB's conatin a ground plane. I don't just plug and play components until something sounds good. I apply the theories and mathmatical equations required to calculate proper shelving frequencies and properly overlapping tone shaping curves for a gapless signal. Each pedal design also goes through extensive spectrum analysis and oscilloscope monitoring for proper calibration and validation of expected results. I source only the highest quality parts from US vendors. I hand assemble each pedal and rigerously test each finished product. I also drop test...yes...I drop test each pedal design for the equivelent of falling off a 6 foot stage onto a concrete floor several times. And that is the reason I can back each pedal with a 5 year waranty.

The Resemblance is the work of two young brothers, Paul Murray (16) and his younger brother Lee (14). Music is not just a passion for these two, it's a life style. From instrumentals that race through your veins like you've just been shot up with adrenalin to the more blue/rock sound, The Resemblance have a sound all their own.
You cannot compare their sound or style to any other artist out there in modern rock and that is what makes these two brothers the future of music! The Resemblance is the future of music and should not be taken lightly because of their age. They will blow you away.
Lee Murray, born February 5th, 1997, is a guitarist in the band, “The Resemblance.” He started to play at a very young age and continues to master the art of technicality of classical and the catchiness of blues. His main goal is to further music in a way that has been previously unheard of; he writes songs with stunning harmonies and intricate composition. Even with his unmatched intricacy, it is of utmost importance to him that he writes music that is accessible to every ear.
Lee, along with his brother Paul, is extremely inspired by the works of Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance of Avenged Sevenfold. Lee strives to further the works and harmonies of Sevenfold’s guitarist in an innovative way. He is also influenced by guitarist such as Eric Johnson, Paul Gilbert and Steve Vai.
Lee enjoys using the “Virgo” overdrive pedal and the “Aquarius” fuzz pedal in bluesy songs. The Virgo handles pushed gain sounds and metal distortions very well, and one can hear it in almost every “Resemblance” song. With his band,
Paul Murray, born July 24th 1994, has indulged in playing the guitar for about 5 or 6 years now. In collaboration with his brother Lee Murray, he is a guitarist in the band, “The Resemblance.” Paul focuses on making the most technically proficient and advanced rock and roll to date. Although, this technicality is not to get in the way of the reason that music was made in the first place: to sound good to the ears of everybody who listens.
He is heavily influenced by blues/classic rock guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Page, Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix etc and also masters of technicality such as Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson. Most of all, he is influenced by Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance. The dual guitar solos and collaboration of Avenged Sevenfold’s guitarists have inspired the Murrays.

Auto Bailout

What is up with this!!! We bailed the auto industry out once, why are we doing it again??? Did we bail out the American Steel industry? NO!!! We left them fail and they had to restructure. Many of them did not come back. We need to do the same with the big 3. Yes, this will affect the auto workers, but the days of the unions is over. The unions now jack up the cost of our vehicles and cost us mopre money. Toyota has plants in the US and they are doing ok. It's time for the big 3 to go bankrupt and restructure and start over. Sell your jets! GM, sell the 1 billion dollar corperate center you have. Yes, it looks impressive, but does you no good. Down size is the key. Let all do this.

FDIC's list of 'problem' banks swells to 171
By MADLEN READAP Business Writer
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. said Tuesday the list of banks it considers to be in trouble shot up nearly 50 percent to 171 during the third quarter — yet another sign of escalating problems among the institutions controlling Americans' deposits.
The 171 banks on the FDIC's "problem list" encompass only about 2 percent of the nearly 8,500 FDIC-insured institutions. Still, the increase from 117 in the second quarter is sharp, and the current tally is the highest since late 1995.
"We've had profound problems in our financial markets that are taking a rising toll on the real economy," said FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair in a statement, adding that Tuesday's report "reflects these challenges."
Banks across the country have been hurt — and in some cases, devastated — by the collapse of the subprime mortgage market and subsequent problems across the lending spectrum. As the FDIC report shows, the number of hobbled institutions is rising at a quickening pace, a trend that has already begun to reshape the banking industry.
The FDIC said total assets held by troubled institutions climbed from $78.3 billion to $115.6 billion — a figure that suggests that the nation's top 20 banks aren't on the list, even though they are getting slammed, too, by the growing credit crisis. The FDIC does not reveal the names of the institutions it deems troubled.
Bert Ely, a banking consultant based in Alexandria, Va., pointed out that the assets held by problem banks represent less than 1 percent of those held by all U.S. banks. "We're still talking about a fairly small portion of the industry," he said.
And on average, only about 13 percent of institutions on the FDIC's list end up failing.
Still, banks that don't make the list can end up collapsing anyway — the two biggest bank failures over the past year, Washington Mutual Inc. and IndyMac Bancorp, had not been on the FDIC's list of troubled banks. Wachovia Corp., which nearly failed before it got bought by Wells Fargo & Co. in October, had not been on the list, either.
Nine banks failed in the third quarter, decreasing the FDIC's deposit insurance fund to $34.6 billion from $45.2 billion in the second quarter. This quarter, the pace appears to be picking up — nine banks have already failed since Sept. 30, including Downey Savings and Loan Association, based in Newport Beach, Calif.
"To some extent, a bank failure is a regulatory failure," Ely said. Regulators, if they address bank problems early on, can convince a troubled bank to sell off assets, raise capital or find a buyer, he said. "My hope is they're moving faster on these problems."
The FDIC said Tuesday that commercial banks and savings institutions suffered a 94 percent drop in third-quarter profits to $1.7 billion from $27 billion in the same period last year. Except for the fourth quarter of 2007, it was the lowest quarterly profit since the fourth quarter of 1990.
Those institutions wrote off $27.9 billion in loans as uncollectible during the quarter.
Recently, community banks — defined as those with assets under $1 billion — have started to show similar stresses as their larger counterparts, the FDIC said.
James Chessen, chief economist at the American Bankers Association, said in a statement that the banking industry as whole, however, "remains well-positioned to meet the credit needs of local communities." Since last year, bank lending to businesses has risen by more than 8 percent, while bank lending to individuals has risen by nearly 7 percent, he said.
The U.S. government has been guaranteeing and buying more and more types of debt in an effort to keep the financial system functional. Late Sunday, Citigroup Inc. got a government backstop for $306 billion worth of mortgages and other assets. On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve agreed to buy up to $600 billion in mortgage-backed assets.

Unemployment for the self employed

This is a letter I wrote to President Bush along with President Elect Obama, among others asking why someone who is self employed and has paid into the unemployment fund can never receive payments unless they are laid off from another employer... Why did I pay into the fund all these years, if I can never get the money when I need help...

Dear President George W. Bush,
I have owned my own company since the early 1990’s and paid into the unemployment fund for almost the entire time. Now that things are tough and my company is not doing well, because of the economy, I turned to the unemployment fund. “My money” and was told several times that since I was self employed that I could never be able to tough my funds, unless I worked for someone a minimum of 6 months and was laid off.
I found this to be very disconcerting. I have paid in over $15,000.00 and now will never see it as long as I am self employed. How is this helping? How is this allowing people to dream, and start their own businesses? This just tells people that you must work for someone else and don’t try to better yourself.
I am asking you to introduce legislation that would allow self employed business owners that are not doing well to be able to access their unemployment fund for a minimum payout. Or even allow business owner to borrow from their fund. This should be done by verifying their prior year company tax return.
I ask you to consider this and I will be sending letters and rallying other business owners until I get the response I desire.

Stock Market

Yet again the New York stock market has dropped. I believe it's been over 2800 points in the last 3 weeks. Who really thinks the governments bailout is going to help. Wall street does not.. One would think that if the govenrment got behind the market that things would do better. Well we have all seen that, that is not the case. It seems the more the government gets involved the more the market falls. I say, let it fall... Let the bottom drop out and start all over again. I can say I have not lost any money, for I pulled it out well before this crash. I can't say the same for several of my friend. One friend lost $60,000.00 in two days and another lost $25,000.00 in 1 day. That is not good. Both of these friend had money in 401K's. Well not anymore. What is this country going to do? And what is McCain and Obama going to do? I don't think they have a firm plan to help the situation.

Bank Failure/Bailout

Well yet another day goes by in the great banking industry of America, and as we all know Wachovia failed yesterday and was taken over by Citibank. The end of large National banks is here. When the stock market drops 778 points, things are not good. Put your money in small hometown banks. These banks have not given morgages to people that could not afford to pay theirfore they are safe. Does the FDIC have the funds to insure every American with money in a bank? I don't think so... Lets let the major banks fail. This bail out is also a scare tacktic by the bush administration. 700 Billion!!! What do you think the treasury department will realy do with it? I am glad it failed and was not passed... Americans may suffer, but we are already suffering in ways the Bush administration can not nor will never understand.

Credit Crunch

The large lenders are not providing credit to the hotel companies, ie smaller hotel companies, but that makes up 80% of my business. Since the lenders are not lending, the hotel company does not have the money to renovate their property. See this realy is a trickle down effect. If the hotels can't renovate then I can't get contracts, so intern my employees, contracters, suppliers suffer. Now, I am only a small piece if the pie, but if their are 1000 other companies out their like me then that spells real trouble.

What the hell is going on with our government. I own a company that is having some hard times due to the economy and I don't see our government helping me out at all. This bail out of the banks and morgage lenders is just plan dumb. Since when did our government start and take over private companies so they don't fail. Whats next? Perhaps the takeover of GM or Ford or better yet, Target or Walmart. I'm sure the Waltons would like some government money. I know I would, but that will never happen. What a joke the people in Washington are. What we need is someone with no experiance no money, but with morals and a some sence of right and wrong as our president, and someone please tell Bush he is just an idiot!!!
